Abstract. The article considers lexical units related to the thematic group «Nature. Vegetable world». The author pays attention to the features of their use in dialect speech. There is an increased use of tokens land, root, garden, deryuga particularly in Tula dialects. The author tries to determine the features and some reasons for the use of these tokens in the secondary nomination. According to the researcher, the peculiarities of use can be observed in connection with the complex history of the word, the presence in dialects of the ancient meaning, which has been lost or is being lost in the literary language. The presence of a special, symbolic meaning that makes the lexeme itself a part of the folk tradition can also influence individual facts of using the word in speech. Summarizing, we emphasize that the use of the words of the thematic group «Nature. Vegetable world» in the secondary nomination is quite frequent.
Keywords: thematic group, semantics, portable use, nature, Tula dialects, linguoculturology.
