Abstract. The article deals with phraseological constructions used as ironic imitations of the interlocutor or pseudo-imitations (when the speaker only seems to be imitating someone, or he deliberately distorts the thought of the interlocutor or a third person). The author gives a detailed definition of the ironic imitation as a linguistic term, identifies key aspects and properties of ironic imitation as an act of communication. The focal point of the article is the proposed classification of phraseological constructions that represent ironic imitations or include their elements. This classification is based on a unified system of classification criteria. The article also pays attention to the analysis of the semantics and pragmatics of the mentioned phraseological constructions. It investigates both their structure and the meaning of the syntactic model itself, as well as their communicative functions in various contexts, primarily their illocutions. Based on a wide range of linguistic data and examples, the author thoroughly explores the use of phraseological constructions with ironic imitation semantics in diverse speech situations and styles, demonstrating their dialogic nature. This study contributes to understanding the role and significance of ironic imitation within the framework of phraseology and language communication.
Keywords: ironic imitation, phraseological construction, phraseoscheme, syntactic idiomatics, illocution.
