Abstract. The purpose of the article is a comprehensive analysis of the texts published by Tula
Pomeranian dogmatist Dionis Vasilyevich Batov. To achieve this goal, the author has analyzed 50 of the
300 works of the Pomeranian dogmatist. The article has identified two groups of texts: verbal and polemical. The verbal texts are presented in the form of notes of znamenny chants and individual prayers.
D. V. Batov's polemical texts are distinguished by their intended purpose. The study has identified four
types of text in this category. They are directed against the "ruling church" and the co-religionists, historiosophic, defending certain dogmatic positions of the Pomeranian accord and aimed at representatives of the Belokrinitsky accord. It should be noted that D. V. Batov's narrative was built in such a way
as to confirm the fidelity of the Old Believers' religious path. His texts often argued rather for the faithfulness of the direction not so much of the Pomeranian concord as of the Old Believers as a whole. His
texts were constructed mainly as either a thesis or an antithesis, followed by a set of arguments supporting it. In his arguments, Dionysus Vasilyevich both appealed to the pillars of faith and used the
works of secular authors, including representatives of non-religious groups. A special layer of the research consists of reprints by D. V. Batov. It can be said that he approached republished materials in
different ways; some works he may have kept intact in principle, even if they contradicted his religious
attitudes, while others he reworked in such a way that they represented an apologia of the Pomeranian
religious understanding of the world. The main conclusion of the study is that the texts of D. V. Batov,
despite following a clear Old Believer paradigm, had a noticeable genre diversity.
Keywords: Pomeranian accord, "the ruling Church", D. V. Batov, Old Believers' book learning, polemical writings.
