Abstract. The article examines the structural, syntactic, and lexical features of messenger newsfeeds. The relative novelty of this means of communication and its high demand among users of various linguistic and cultural backgrounds have led to interest in its study from the linguistic point of view. The empirical basis of the work are the texts of News and Mass media feeds. In order to study the linguistic features of language material, linguistic and general scientific methods were used. The article presents the characteristics of news design, reflecting both the specifics of the language in digital media, and the impact on the audience's perception of information about political events. It is noted that the ways of adapting texts for the reader representing the culture of the target language are determined taking into account the characteristic features of electronic sources. The analysis of sources of the News and Media category allowed us to identify some linguistic and extralinguistic features of news design: saving language resources (lexical, syntactic); neological boom, creation of abbreviations; visual impact on the recipient; interactivity in communication; aggregation of information; use of hashtags and keywords; lack of complex syntactic constructions; the use of special means for expressing emotions; use of means for creating a positive attitude of the audience. The paper pays attention to the syntactic features of the newsfeed language. The syntax of modern messengers is functional and quite simple: predominance of simple syntactic constructions, frequent use of incomplete sentences, and a large number of attributive phrases are noted. The authors noted that messenger newsfeeds, which are a new type of discourse, digitally reflect the communicative processes taking place in modern society and have a significant impact on the media audience..
Keywords: messenger newsfeed, digital sphere, digital space, communication processes, language features, translation methods.
