Аннотация. В статье рассматривается проблема формирования ключевых составляющих македонской тактики второй половины IV в. до н. э. Этими базовыми компонентами, наиболее отчетливо проявившимися в полномасштабных битвах Александра, были сосредоточение лучших сил войска на одном из флангов, концентрированный удар по наиболее уязвимому участку вражеских боевых порядков и комбинированное применение различных родов войск. Данные принципы ведения боя Филипп II успешно использовал уже в первом своем сражении с иллирийцами в 358 г. до н. э. Определяется, что новая македонская тактика отчасти базировалась на идеях выдающегося фиванского полководца Эпаминонда. Об этом свидетельствуют и прямые сообщения античных авторов, и сравнение методов ведения боевых действий. Тем не менее македонский царь существенно развил фиванские наработки, изменив принцип выбора точки приложения сил и роль кавалерии на поле боя, из-за чего македонская тактика стала более универсальной и вариативной. Предпосылкой для внедрения указанных новшеств стали ключевые особенности военного дела Македонии времен Аргеадов, где ведущим родом войск традиционно была аристократическая конница. Благодаря этой основополагающей черте военной культуры кавалерия продолжила выполнять важные тактические функции и после военных преобразований Филиппа. Кроме того, естественные особенности конницы, приспособленной к быстрому удару, а не упорному натиску, предопределили особое тактическое мышление македонян и, соответственно, стремление Филиппа и Александра атаковать на наиболее слабом участке неприятельского построения.
